Armoise is an aromatic silvery grey plant that was particularly fashionable at the end of the 19th century when it was used to prepare absinthe or “green fairy” liqueur. It has feathery dissected leaves. From July to October, depending on the region, Armoise produces yellow tubular flowers and bunched flower heads. While its flower is of minor interest, the plant is grown for its foliage and pleasant fragrance. The most sought-after plant has a high alpha and beta thujones content. It can grow up to 1m tall.
