The herbaceous resin
Lentiscus produces a strongly-scented resin — either naturally or by incision — which is often manifest as dried traces on the tree’s trunk. Distillation extraction of its leafy branches also produce an essential oil and a concrete, the intense aroma of which presents herbaceous tones.
