Alfa belongs to the Poaceae plant family and is a grass which resembles other grasses that flourish in dense but delicate tufts of up to nearly one meter tall. These days, it’s used ornamentally in borders, as a bedding or rockery plant.
This perennial exceptional fine foliage will remain green until the fall and adopts an almost coppery tint in summer. Alfalfa grows at the foot of rocky slopes where soil is relatively poor and well drained.
