The May Rose is cultivated in Morocco’s Tiddas region where acres of land have been given over to its production. Its name describes the great number of petals that make up the flower. The plant is a drooping shrub rose and can grow to between 5 and 6½ feet tall. The French Riviera perfumers quickly understood the rich aromatic potential of this variety of rose, which remains a mainstay in perfumery.
